Awesome BBQ joint! Had the loaded potato with pulled pork with a side of BBQ beans and bacon green beans, and was very impressed with the meal. The meat was juicy and had a sweet, smoky flavor. The sides are delicious and are a generous portion. The staff is friendly and masters of their craft. Awesome conversations if you're a BBQ enthusiast. Would recommend this place if you're craving some good BBQ!
Wow what can I say. Everything was amazing. From the Ribs (Tuesday special), moist brisket, turkey (amazing flavor and moist) sides were great. I’m definitely coming back for more. No complaints. Generous portion sizes. Hats off to the owners.
Kevin, Efrain & Michael knocked it out of the park. Best Bbq I’ve ever tried. Food was more than filling. Staff was amazing. Place was clean. Environment was perfect. Definitely a place to come more than once.
During our clinc site visit today, we chose to eat at Black Diamond for lunch. They offered a lunch special, which I was able to order the three pork ribs w/ two sides ( potato salad and charro beans). The ribs were extremely moist, tender, & flavorful. Since moving to this area of Texas in the last six months I have begun to look forward to great charro beans and these did not disappoint! They are in my top 5 that I am willing to drive from Harlingen to McAllen just to get these charro beans! They are a meal w/n themselves! They had smoked sausage, jalapenos, and other great seasonings to make them stand out on their own. Now the potato salad, ummm, let's just say it was not for me. However, my lunch special was only 11.99! This was awesome for the amount of food I got. Now, my co-worker ordered the one meat plate w/the brisket, mashed baked potatoe, & baked beans. Her brisket looked very moist and tender as well and she stated that it was good as well as her sides. The size of the sides that they give you is very generous. The servers/attendants were very nice and patient in answering our questions since it was our first time in their restaurant. I will be going back because I have to get me some more beans!!
I love their brisket sandwich with potato salad and BBQ beans. Their ribs fall off the bone and are super good too. Jerry has weekly lunch specials. Go check them out.
Update: Still pretty good. Ordered the brisket and so far still the best. The lady up in the front was very nice and catered to all our needs. Went here to try it out because of the reviews. I took my parents, they ordered spicy sausage sandwich and a plate with charro beans and potato salad. I ordered the chicken plate with a brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was great except the chicken, it was a bit dry and the Mac and cheese should have been more cheesy. But everything else was great especially the brisket.
First time in Texas best bbq in McAllen!! Hands down meat was tender and juicy!! Kevin was awesome!!! And Michael too we loved that they had spicy options as well!!! Prices Are super affordable as well!! We shared this plate and added extra Brisket!!!!! 20 for the 3 meat plate and 2 sides. We added extra meat 1/2lb for 13.
Friendly staff. Great environment. Delicious food. A great local bbq spot for foodies. 10/10 recommend. The sausage was tasty and juicy and their chicken cooked to perfection.
